Port Voices

Work on the documentary films for Ports, Past and Present is trickling along. We have had the chance to view the first rough cuts and give feedback and are waiting on the next batch. In the meantime, I have been busy putting together a series of audio extracts of oral histories and some poetry that we recorded as part of the initial development stage for the films. These sound clips have been assembled into an audio tour around the Irish Sea and can be enjoyed following this link.

As a small and unexpected side project, I took some time this week to create a 2-minute slide show of some selected audio clippings and accompanying images. They may only be five examples, but they will give you a fantastic idea of the generosity of the people I had the joy of interviewing, listening to the stories they so graciously shared about themselves, the places they call home and the shared heritage that joins these port communities on both sides of the Irish Sea. You may say, this is the trailer for above mentioned audio tour. Enjoy!
