In a Port Town Far, Far Away

The other week, I took the opportunity to attend the third and final film shoot in our Welsh port communities and went for a 24-hour visit to Pembroke Dock. It was lovely exploring the town for the first time outside winter. It was also great catching up with our great friend of the project, David James, who contributed the story of how a ginkgo tree was planted in this far-away corner of Wales by one of Japan’s foremost naval officers. And speaking of far, far away — you’re never far from being reminded that the Millennium Falcon was built here, too. Both of these stories and more will be featured in our little documentary and we’re hoping to do the people of Pembroke Dock proud once we return with the final film next year.
